Careers
Donald Insall Associates has over 50 years experience in caring for historic buildings and towns, as well as in the design of new buildings for sensitive sites. Our pre-eminence in this field has been recognised in many design, building and craftsmanship awards; but none of this would be possible without the individual and collective contributions of our staff.
We work from offices in eight interesting locations across the UK and currently employ nearly 90 people, whom we generally refer to as ‘members’. The professional team includes fee-earners at all levels, including architects, surveyors, designers, technicians and technologists. We also have a specialist team of historic building advisors and a dedicated research team. Locally-based secretarial and administrative teams provide support for the professional teams, together with specialists who provide practice-wide expertise in areas such as finance, ICT, PR, graphics, library and HR.
We pride ourselves on our welcoming and inclusive working environment, which aims to bring out the best in all members, foster creativity and engender a culture of mutual respect through learning from and supporting each other.
Current Vacancies
We are not currently recruiting for any vacancies across the Practice, but details of all future career opportunities will be posted on this page as and when they arise. Recruitment across all our offices is managed centrally by our HR department, based in London.
Due to the volume of speculative enquiries we receive, we will only hold your details on file if we believe that your qualifications, skills and experience could be a strong match for the types of roles we recruit for. To be considered, please forward a full CV and covering letter, indicating your preferred role, location(s) and availability, to humanresources@insall-architects.co.uk.
All candidates will be required, if offered employment, to be able to demonstrate their entitlement to work in the UK. Please note that we are not able to accept unsolicited CVs or enquiries from recruitment suppliers.
We are an Equal Opportunities employer.
Benefits:
In addition to a competitive salary, our members enjoy other benefits (subject to conditions), which include flexible working hours and paid overtime, pension plan with employer and employee contributions, life assurance cover and holiday entitlements which increase with length of service. For trainee architects, the Practice also offers study leave and financial assistance with course fees for RIBA Part III.
We are committed to supporting all our members (both fee-earning and support) in their Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and offer a range of benefits including payment of professional subscriptions and time to attend relevant training courses. Our annual ‘One-to-One Review’ meetings between members and their managers also provide opportunities to review progress and set goals for personal and professional development.
The Practice is wholly-owned by its members, with the majority shareholding vested in an Employee Benefit Trust (EBT). The EBT provides security for continuity and succession in the Practice’s work and organisation. Dividends received by the EBT are distributed to members at the discretion of the Trustees, usually once each year in December.
