The Hall, a Grade II* listed set of interconnected buildings of diverse origins, serves a wide range of civic and public functions. Our brief was for the conservation and repair of the external stonework and of the glazing of the Connaught Hall, by William Burges.

Fifty two windows on the street elevations, including four stained glass windows by Lonsdale, were found set in rusted and warped iron frames, while cement based mortars and renders had aggravated weathering of the stonework. Our work included overhaul and repair of stonework and windows, provision of walkways and access ladders to roof valleys and slopes and improving tortuous drainage routes. The building remained fully operational during the works.
