Built by Henry Holland during 1778-81, as an entrance to the estate, the lodge, listed Grade II is ashlar faced and topped by unusual cast-iron balusters. The arch is reputed to commemorate a victory by Admiral Rodney.

We were appointed to work on the south half of the building, in use for general storage and in a poor state of repair. Work included stitching structural faults in the brickwork and introducing modern services, heating and fitted joinery.

An open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area is provided in the single storey extension, with two bedrooms and bathrooms located within the arch. The refurbished building is now in use as a luxury holiday cottage.
