A scheduled monument lying in a National Park, this C12th castle may have been decaying by the mid C15th, and materials were subsequently robbed for buildings in the town. Following a successful HLF grant application, DIA was appointed to oversee stonework consolidation and repointing works to the towers, removal of vegetation and associated landscaping works.
