Headstone Manor was first built around 1315 as a timber framed manor house set within a moat. The building was subsequently altered and extended, but later reduced in size following a fire. Now owned by Harrow Council, the Ancient Parts comprising the original hall and cross-wing, and the tower have been restored. The work carried out has included extensive repairs to the structural timbers, the insertion of steel support structures, the renewal of the roof coverings and external repair and partial renewal of damaged internal finishes. A door at the west end of the cross wing has been reopened and a new stair has been built within the tower.
