Repair and refurbishment of this elegant 17th century Bishop's Hostel and its two ranges, added by Sir Arthur Blomfield in the 1870s, took place as part of the College repair programme, with which the Practice has been involved since 1972.
Improved facilities, including ensuite shower rooms, were inserted without reducing the number of students accommodated; additional service rooms were introduced to the basement of the Victorian range.
External works include brick repair and the re-roofing of the Victorian ranges with hand-made clay tiles. Subtle improvements were carried out to the dormers and eaves of the 17th century building revealing the original moulded fascia.
Client: The Master and Fellows of Trinity College
