Refurbishment of the delightful Orangery at Goldney Hall for the University of Bristol has recently been completed. Open all the year round for weddings and functions, the 1970's make-over had got tired, and needed revisiting. The 'faux marble' decoration was replaced by plain, natural stone colours. The mirror panels, that bring the outside in, were reproportioned to harmonize with the existing glazing, and the sliding servery doors given a purposeful surround. Acoustic treatment was added to the ceiling in bays that relate to the floor grid, and wirework panels were added to the blank walls to respond to the orangery theme.
