Insall appointed to City Hall, Georgetown, Guyana

Donald Insall Associates have been appointed to prepare a Comprehensive Restoration Plan and Sustainable Conservation Management Plan for the City Hall, Georgetown, Guyana. Following up an initial visit in 2013, Francis Maude will lead a multi-disciplinary team to undertake a full appraisal of the buildings, which include the City Engineer’s Building on the same site. The Guyanese National Trust is the main stakeholder in an EU funded project to ensure the restoration and conservation both buildings. They form part of a group of some 40 large timber-framed structures in central Georgetown, for which inscription as a World Heritage Site is being sought.
