Lambeth Town Hall Receives Listed Building Consent
September 30, 2015

This Grade II Listed Edwardian Town Hall in Brixton, London Borough of Lambeth has recently received Listed Building Consent to upgrade the building’s services, heating and lighting as well as creating a new internal atrium which will be undertaken by Cartwright Pickard Architects. Donald Insall Associates’ Historic Building Advisory team provided a heritage report on the Town Hall as well as the adjacent building in the conservation area, formerly a department store; particularly difficult aspects of the Town Hall that required heritage advice included concrete floors that leave no space to get new services through.

The photo is from 1908, depicting the Town Hall’s Brixton Hill Façade.
