New Appointment as Heritage Architects in Bishopsgate Conservation Area
September 18, 2015

Donald Insall Associates has been appointed as consulting heritage architects on a new large scale development in the heart of the city. Working with lead architects, PLP Architecture, we are heading the restoration and partial reconstruction of a row of late Victorian commercial buildings on Devonshire Row and an Edwardian building on Bishopsgate. The project will reinvigorate the southern end of the Bishopsgate Conservation Area, introducing the first luxury hotel to be constructed in Central London in 30 years and creating a new public plaza, cafes and retail facilities on the doorstep of Liverpool Street Station. In keeping with the character of the City’s streetscape, which effortlessly integrates the contemporary with the historic, the new 43-storey tower sits alongside the retained 19th century facades and a reinstated Grade II timber shop front.
