New Appointment to Undertake Condition Survey of JW Evans Silverware Factory
March 16, 2016
The JW Evans silver factory in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter was managed by a single family from its foundation in 1881 to closure in 2008. The factory was the subject of a three-year rescue project carried out in two phases by English Heritage until 2011. Now open to the public, the Grade II* listed building is a remarkably intact factory containing thousands of dies for the manufacture of silverware. Donald Insall Associates Chester have been appointed to undertake a condition survey of the unique building.
