Planning Permission Granted for Demolition Behind a Retained Façade on Pimlico Road
July 3, 2015

Westminster City Council has recently granted planning permission to demolish existing buildings behind retained facades fronting Pimlico Road and Bourne Street in order to redevelop the site; excavation to form enlarged basement, mansard roof extension and extensions at rear ground, first and second floor level with terraces at first and second floor level, satellite/antennae and photovoltaic panels at main roof level to provide a new building comprising two retail units at basement and ground floor level and six residential units (3 x 1 bed, 1 x 2 bed, and 2 x 3 bed) on the three upper floors.

Our Historic Buildings Consultancy provided advice and heritage strategy for the Grosvenor Estate, which helped persuade Westminster City Council that there would be no harm to the conservation area arising from the proposals as our research demonstrated that the buildings had been radically altered in the post-war period.
