Planning Permission Granted for Former Belmont Works, Birmingham
March 4, 2016

Birmingham City Council planning committee has granted planning permission for the adaptive reuse of the Former Belmont Works, voting unanimously in favour of the proposals to bring the derelict factory building back into use and reinforcing its landmark role within the Eastside Locks regeneration area.

The former Belmont Works is an unlisted building of merit which has significance as a handsome 19th century ‘free-style’ building, reflecting the architectural exuberance characteristic of the thriving industry in the Birmingham. Donald Insall Associates were appointed in 2015 to assist in proposals by Aukett Swanke to install a viable new use to the building.
