Shortlisted designs for Museum of London revealed
June 10, 2016
The six contest finalists for the £150 million Museum of London relocation project have revealed their concept designs yesterday, which includes designs by Bjarke Ingels Group’s team with Donald Insall Associates, Hawkins\Brown and Gehl Architects (pictured). All finalist designs are to go on display at the Museum of London starting today until 5 August.
Christopher Costelloe, director of the Victorian Society, said: ‘The images released illustrate an interesting variety of ways of once again making the Smithfield General Market buildings a hub of London life.
’We look forward to seeing further details and hope to work closely with whichever team is chosen to ensure that this important site is repaired and returned to use in a way that reflects its architectural and historic importance.’
