The Transforming Orleans House Project Passes HLF Stage Two

The Octagon is situated in the grounds of the former Orleans House in Twickenham and was designed as a garden pavilion for the entertainment of Queen Caroline, by James Gibbs. It will now form an important role for the Orleans House Gallery sited in a pivotal location between the new extended Gallery and the support facilities providing an essential multipurpose activity space. The repair, redecoration and improvements to the Octagon Room will greatly invigorate the interior and provide an improved layout and better circulation between the Octagon Room and the new gallery entrance adding to the visitor appreciation and enjoyment of the gallery and enabling more flexible usage.
