Three grants awarded for St Bartholomew Tong
January 27, 2017
Pippa Thorneycroft, Vicar of the Church, together with Donald Insall Associates and Transformations Community Projects Partnership have been working together on the Tong Twenty Twenty Vision: our vision for restoring St Bartholomew’s Church. We have successfully won three grant awards for this project.
The north aisle has been successful with a Listed Places of Worship grant award and we will be going on site this year to carry out re-roofing to the North & South Aisle Roofs in terne coated steel due to the frequency of lead theft.
We have a first round pass for the Heritage Lottery Fund Grant for Listed Places of Worship and are currently progressing the Development Stage for tower repairs together with a small re-ordering of the Vestry and North Aisle flower arranging area to provide a meeting room, improved storage, upgraded audio and security installations.
The National Churches Trust has awarded a grant to help develop a scheme for new toilet and kitchen facilities of which two options have gained the support of Historic England and Lichfield DAC following an Options Appraisal in 2015.
