Vote for Lion Salt Works as ‘Best Heritage Project’ in the National Lottery Awards!
June 29, 2016

Having only recently won the Museum and Heritage award, Lion Salt Works has been shortlisted for the best Heritage project of the National Lottery Awards, beating a competition of 600 organisations as the only contender from the North West. In order to receive the top award, which will be televised via BBC One, the Lion Salt Works needs to win enough votes from the public: in other words, you!  You can cast your vote on the Awards website or by calling 0844 836 9674. Voting runs from 22 June to midnight 20 July.

The Lion Salt Works is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and the last remnant of the salt industry in the area. Donald Insall Associates led an HLF funded restoration programme, which led to the museum opening in June last year. Read more about our involvement here.
