Westminster Council Approves Plans for Park Crescent West
November 4, 2015

Westminster City Council have approved plans for a £250m residential redevelopment of the John Nash-designed Park Crescent West: a post-war replica of the original crescent which remained of very high significance, preserving the impression of Nash’s original and innovative concept for the Regent’s Park.

Donald Insall Associates provided historic building advice on the development of the scheme to demolish 16-26 Park Crescent West and build a scholarly replica of the original Nash façade in its place. Our Historic Building Report demonstrated that in this very rare case, the complete demolition of the Grade I listed terrace and its replacement with a more scholarly replica would preserve and enhance rather than obliterate its significance.
