Westminster Hall Masonry Conservation Shortlisted for the Civic Trust AABC Conservation Award
November 6, 2015

Donald Insall Associates is pleased to announce that our Westminster Hall Masonry Conversion project is a regional finalist for the Civic Trust AABC Conservation Award.

Donald Insall Associates’ recently completed project involved the cleaning and conservation of the Hall’s internal and external fabric, including Richard II’s medieval frieze and the richly decorated north wall. This phase included the restoration of the existing gothic coloured glass windows and the installation of the new Queen’s Jubilee Window.

This year, the project moves into its next phase with the restoration of the lantern, and the repair and conservation of the famous 14th century hammer-beam roof, which will be complimented by the installation of a new lighting scheme designed to enhance the representation of this great space.

A detailed case study is published in our Review 2015 (page 9).
