Bath Spa - Bath
Historic spas and contemporary buildings form the new Spa Complex, where, as historic building consultants, the Practice has been involved with five listed buildings including the Grade I listed Cross Bath and the Grade II* listed Hot Bath.
In the Cross Bath the remnants of the oval Georgian pump room have been re-interpreted by a new oval pool and cantilevered canopy and 19th and 20th century partitions removed.
Our proposals for the Hot Bath re-create the cellular nature of John Wood's building, utilising all remaining original fabric to the maximum while retaining the later inner circulation route. Unsympathetic additions are stripped away to re-establish the clarity and rigour of the original plan.
