Bridgewater Canal, Salford

We led a multi-disciplinary team including landscape architects, ecologists, industrial archaeologists, access consultants and interpretation designers to produce a Conservation Management Plan for the section of the Bridgewater Canal that runs through Salford City.  The canal has a wealth of buildings and structures of historic and architectural interest along its banks, and a number of different character areas.  A key outcome of the study was the production of a phased action plan for conservation works and environmental improvements, together with recommendations for better interpretation of the history and significance of the Bridgewater Canal and the structures alongside it.
