Bryn Yr Odyn, Ffestiniog
This Grade II hall house dates from c1550 and lies within Snowdonia National Park. Identified within Peter Smith’s Houses of the Welsh Countryside as a ‘Snowdonia type hall house’, a particularly significant feature is the load-bearing post and panel partitions. We successfully gained consents for sensitive repair and restoration of these panels, in association with recordings provided by Gwynedd Archaeological Trust. Work is currently ongoing on site and the scheme also includes sustainably powered underfloor heating and services to include solar panel installations.
