St Eilian’s Church, Llaneilian

source A beautiful Grade-I-listed mediaeval church located in the village of Llaneilian on Anglesey St. Eilian’s retained many historically significant features, including a timber rood screen with one surviving painting and many wood carvings figures. St. Eilian’s church required emergency reroofing as large parts of its lead roof had been stripped off by thieves. Insall was appointed to develop the repair strategy and prepare the schedule of works for tender and faculty submission and oversaw the works on site. New lead was installed to the original details, and we carried out extensive research into the installation of additional safety precautions but in place to prevent further theft in the future. These included LedLok fixings where not attached directly to mediaeval timber, smart water marking, anti-climb paint to all rainwater goods and a comprehensive roof alarm system.
