Last week saw another edition of the Heritage Trust Network’s annual conference, which took place in Stirling, Scotland and attended by our Chairman Tony Barton. Insall is pleased to have sponsored the ‘conference artist’ Chris Rutterford, who engaged with conference attendees with a live mural painting. The theme of this year’s conference was SKILLS, which meant discussions were based around a live ‘toolkit’ on historic building conservation and project delivery.
Conference organisers the Heritage Trust Network, founded in 1989, are an organisation of local heritage groups, consultants and social-enterprises, predominantly run by professional volunteers, which support heritage projects across the country by giving guidance, support and advice. Insall has been associated with the trust for several years, and at last year’s conference sponsored the poet Raza Hussain, who produced a powerful poem inspired by the themes of the event.
