Donald Insall Associates has been named the Winner of Winners at the annual Bath Property Awards following a win in the architect category. The panel noted our ‘burgeoning reputation’ which ‘earnt stand-out appointments by B&NES Council and Bath design review panel as pioneers for property conservation work’. They also highlighted our involvement with the Bath Quays North project; The Empire and Cleveland Pools as standout projects in the city.
Since opening our office in Bath back in 1997, we have worked on a great variety of projects in the city. Early work included the award-winning overhaul of the Cross Bath, a Grade I listed thermal bathing pool and the winner of a Europa Nostra award in 1993, whilst more recently we have been enlisted to support the reopening of the Cleveland Pools, one of the most significant open-air swimming baths in the country.
Our work at the former Empire Hotel, an iconic building overlooking the River Avon, involved a programme of exterior repairs and alterations to the roof amongst to safeguard this Bath landmark for years to come. We were also commissioned to prepare six Conservation Area Character Appraisals for the Bath Conservation Area, which as part of the Placemaking Plan, are now helping to guide development within the city.Our Bath office
