Luke joined Insall’s Birmingham office in 2021 having previously gained professional experience in a contemporary design led practice in London. He has worked on a number of renovations of listed houses in London, as well as delivering new build projects in sensitive locations such as the South Downs National Park. In the process he has developed an understanding of how to make contemporary interventions in historic buildings, and several of the projects he led on have been nominated for awards. Luke also teaches on the MArch course at the Birmingham School of Architecture, focusing on the continued tradition of architecture and how the analysis of historic buildings can act as a catalyst for contemporary design proposals.
