Matt Osmont

  • Practice Director
  • BA BArch ADPPA (Dist) MSc RIBA AABC

Matt studied sustainable architecture at the Manchester School of Architecture and has worked in the field of conservation since graduating in 2006. He joined Donald Insall Associates in 2014, and is currently Practice Director at the Conwy branch. Matt leads projects through all work stages, striving to blend his interest in sustainable architecture with his passion for historic buildings conservation. This has culminated in his recent completion of a part-time Master’s at the Welsh School of Architecture in Sustainable Building Conservation, where he proposed the development of ‘Circular Conservation’, fusing strategies from the circular economy with more traditional conservation principles. He is on the register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC) and is adept at diagnosing defects in historic structures and the development of sensitive repair strategies. Matt is an external examiner for the RIBA North West region and is a guest lecturer at both the University of Liverpool and the Manchester School of Architecture.
