Formerly the Chairman of Donald Insall Associates (1998–2012), Nicholas has a wealth of experience in the field of internal refurbishment and adaptation of historic buildings, with his involvement extending to full decoration and furnishing schemes for projects at Clothworkers’ Hall, Liverpool Town Hall, and the Mansion House, London. He acted as Superintending Officer for the PSA’s projects at the Public Record Office and Trafalgar Square and for aspects of the House of Lords’ Chamber Ceiling Restoration in 1982–1984. He was responsible for major repair and conservation projects at important country houses and townhouses, and at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Foxcote House, Chandos House, and Plumpton Place, and was an Interior Design Consultant for the Royal Albert Hall.
