Norman studied architecture in Scotland and Chicago and since graduating in 1987 has been based in Cambridge. He was formerly involved in commercial architecture such as Business Parks and Innovation Centres. Since joining Donald Insall Associates he has been involved in the refurbishment and conservation of historic buildings such as Knebworth House, various Cambridge Colleges and The Palace of Westminster. Other projects of note that he has worked on the last few years are the Stephen Hawking Building for Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge; The Arundel House Hotel; The Old Rectory, Wimbledon; and Gunby Hall, Castle Rising and Kirby Hall for English Heritage.
