Jesus College, Chapel

Cambridge

Donald Insall Associates has worked at Jesus College for many years and recently directed a major re-lighting scheme in the Chapel that also involved removing modern alkyd resin paint from the walls and recoating them in traditional milk-based paint. The decorative ceilings designed and executed by Morris working under Bodley are still in need of conservation but are shown to better advantage by the new lighting.

The Practice assisted in the design and installation of a new organ by Orgelbau Kuhn of Männedof to replace an inadequate organ by Mander built in 1971.  The new organ can now be seen next to the earlier Sutton organ of 1846, housed in a case designed by Pugin.
