Insall offers advice, Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments (TVIA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) chapters for new development and substantial additions that have a townscape impact. Often, our townscape work goes hand in hand with our heritage advice, but we also provide standalone townscape services.
Our townscape consultancy experience covers dense inner-city sites, often in historically sensitive settings, where new development must be considered in its built context. We have also worked on brownfield sites, out-of-town and rural locations and can address the impacts of new buildings and additions in natural settings. Our team have advised on complex projects with a wide range of structures, and on individual buildings. We work alongside visualisation firms to help identify key views and provide clear guidance and assessment of the subsequent verified views.
