Rebecca joins the northern historic buildings team at Donald Insall Associates with over 10 years of experience working within the built environment, drawing on her academic qualifications in building conservation (IHBC) and planning (MRTPI). Rebecca was head of heritage and townscape at a national planning consultancy before moving to Donald Insall to grow the team in Yorkshire and the North-East. Prior to this, Rebecca held positions at Historic England, the Diocese of Lincoln, and most recently, acted as northern heritage team leader at Purcell Architecture.

Rebecca has played an integral role in major conservation and restoration projects ranging from Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and Manchester Town Hall to Castlefield Viaduct and the Grade-I Temple Newsam estate in Leeds. She specialises in managing change to complex historic places by offering pragmatic, creative solutions to clients, particularly in the face of the challenges posed by climate change. She has a proven track record in providing award-winning advice and advocacy to unlock the sustainable future of significant, multi-asset places for the people that value them.

Rebecca is a CFCE-appointed member of the Chester Cathedral and Southwell Minster Fabric Advisory Committees. She is also a trustee of the York Georgian Society and acts as their historic buildings representative on planning and development casework.
